Emissions Control

Experience the Merquel® difference

ICL’s MERQUEL® products are utilized by coal-fired power stations as key components for effective mercury emissions control.

Coal-fired power stations worldwide must meet strict relevant regulatory requirements regarding mercury emission levels. As a source of elemental bromine, MERQUEL® is used to oxidize the mercury released during coal combustion. The oxidation process converts significant amounts of mercury into ionic species, which can then be removed via downstream pollution control methods.

By complying with specific on-site technologies and specifications, the MERQUEL® product portfolio allows power plants and incinerators to solidify their commitment to a more sustainable future.
